As a retired police officer, do I need to obtain a Connecticut Guard Card?

It might seem a bit silly that you spent all those years working as a police officer, including all of the training you went through, only to then have to sit what is no doubt a simplistic classroom course and exam just to get a Connecticut Guard Card, but unfortunately nobody ever said that government regulation had to make sense.

Whether you have spent a few months working as a Corrections Officer or a two decades as a cop on the beat, government says that nobody is exempt from the basic training requirements and then applying for and obtaining the required security officer license.

But you do have one thing going for you...

The CT Guard Card class and exam compared to anything you ever went to at the academy will just be a walk in the park.
