Can I transfer my New York Security Officer License to Connecticut?

Connecticut at this time does not accept licensing and certifications for security guards and security officers from any other State.

You will need to:

• Apply for a new security guard license with the State of Connecticut.
• Register for an approved security guard class
  • The class must meet the minimum legal requirements as stated by the Connecticut legislature.

And only then you will be approved for what is commonly known as the CT Guard Card.

If you already have a little experience as a security guard in another State, and that State has a class and possibly exam requirement, e.g. California's Guard Card requirements, then doing it all over again in Connecticut should be a breeze.
